We arrived in Southampton early this morning. Like they normally do on cruises, we were to put our luggage outside our room last night, and then when we get off the ship it will be in the terminal for us to pick up. If you had to think of 2 things to make sure you DON'T pack in your luggage that gets taken away - what two items would you make sure you have? Here's mine:
1. Clothes
2. Passport
So we pack up our clothes last night, minus what we are going to wear and our sweaty workout clothes that we didn't want stinking up our suitcases. Get up this morning, start getting dressed: tshirt (checkmark), cute blazer jacket (checkmark), pants (wait.... where are my pants!!?!??!? no checkmark! ). Thank goodness for sweaty workout shorts or Jodi would have been disembarking in the spa robe!
We had a nice afternoon in Southampton - three cruise ships were here today, and we even get a nice view our our Queen Mary 2 from our hotel window! Tomorrow.... on to London! :-)
We're both feeling a little bit tipsy - even though we're off the ship, the ground is still rocking. Funny, we never had really bad waters (the most was 12-15ft, enough to make you not walk a perfectly straight line but not bad enough to bounce off the walls), and the last 24 hours were really calm waters, but I guess our brains are still used to sloshing around in our skulls.
Thanks for the comments, and we'll try to answer a few questions.
1. I'd say the average age on the ship was 60 years old. In our corner of the dining room, there were three couples under 60 and around 20 couples in their 60s or more. Our table-mates were one of the three under 60 and were a lot of fun, but I'd say there were plenty of people over 60 that were whoooping it up more than most middle agers, especially on the dance floor!
2. Sheila - no Aspens.... I'm sure they had them or something similar but we stuck to a really really good coffee instead!
3. Chris's suit - We'll see if he wears it again after the cruise or not! Maybe we'll need to find an excuse to wear it back in Minneapolis.... does the Scoreboard have a "black tie" night?
