Getting Ready to Go!

We're getting ready to pack, and figured we'd do a "test" of our gear.    It makes for quite an outfit:   formal dresses and tux (for the cruise),  suitcase (for London and general carrying of things),  hiking boots and gaitors (for jungle trekking to gorillas in Rwanda),  backpacks (for climbing Mt Karisimbi),  and helmet and ice axe (for creative license.)
This will be a an interesting mix of a trip:   We're starting with a quick one day visit with aunt Laurie and family in New York,  then hopping on a Cunard cruise ship to cruise for 7 days from New York to Southhampton England (about 80 miles south of London).    Six days in London to visit Konstantin and Ingrid (two of Chris's friends from when he studied in Paris),  and then we'll hop a plane to Rwanda Africa for two weeks.    We're really excited about the whole trip,   but especially about the Rwanda part.      High school friend Jill and her husband Scott have been living there for over a year and we'll be hanging out and doing fun adventures with with them for the weekends and when they take a few days off of work.     Rwanda has a lot of great things to do and see:   trekking to gorillas, small mountain climbing, camping, and visiting a few lodge and lake areas.      We're really excited!
